We propose annexing this area into the City of Helena to provide better infrastructure and enhance overall safety. Our plan includes adding essential services that meet—and sometimes exceed—city standards, such as water, sewer, and reliable street infrastructure, including curbs, fire hydrants, street lights, boulevards, and sidewalks. These upgrades will not only make our neighborhood safer but also easier for the city to maintain, boosting the local tax base in the process.
Moreover, Sussex is collaborating with the City of Helena and the local School District to improve existing infrastructure outside Westside Woods. Our projects focus on much-needed road improvements, sidewalk expansions, and traffic calming measures to ensure the safety of all residents, particularly children traveling to and from school. Through these efforts, we aim to make a lasting, positive impact on our community and its future.
